Accordion Book Bonanza

In this workshop, we will explore the myriad ways to construct an accordion book – including, but not limited to: enhanced folding techniques, adding length to paper, covering book boards, adding depth and dimension, and other techniques. We will then turn our attention to the various ways to use this ancient form – many with a modern flair. Students will leave with at least three (3) finished books. Suitable for all skill levels, our look at this form will have your mind racing with all sorts of ways to create beyond our time together.
There is a Kit Fee of $10.00 – Payable to instructor at the start of class.
Class Kit Includes: Alternate cover material(s), custom collage sheets, use of assorted decorative papers, metal book corners, use of markers/inks/colored pencils, and a vintage ephemera assortment.
Instructor will provide: Reinforcement material, templates for use in class and beyond, use of specialized tools (eyelet setters, stamps, stamp pads, etc.), use of assorted vintage/handmade papers and a detailed handout.
Supplies to Bring:
One (1) sheet of Stonehenge paper in the color of your choice
Art Bites All Media Art Panels in the following sizes: 3x5in, 4x6in, and 4x4in
Cutting mat at least 12x18in
A glue stick
4oz. Neutral pH Adhesive or PVA glue
SOHO Colored pencils and or Concept markers
A stencil or stencils of your choosing
8oz jar of Matte medium
Jerry’s Studio Gesso 16oz
3/4in flat, and 1/4in flat, Polar Flo brushes
Clip art/decorative papers/ephemera/scrap paper for collaging
