Relax and let loose in this informative and encouraging environment! Learn to create your own unique interpretation of the landscape with interesting shapes, values and color harmony. We’ll be using palette knife, brushes, cold wax and other mediums and tools to develop our designs. You’ll get be plenty of one-on-one guidance and you’ll be encouraged to develop your own personal style of expression!
If you have a couple of location photos that inspire you, bring them along and we’ll talk about what to look for in a good photo.
Valuable handouts, mixed media paper, easels, palette knife and paints for class use are provided. You may bring your own portable easel or table easel if you prefer.
Supplies to bring:
Bring a 12x12 and 12x16 canvas, or DaVinci Pro Ultrasmooth Gesso Panel
a small jar of Gamblin Cold Wax
and some of your favorite paint colors.
You will also need a palette to mix your paint on
an assortment of brushes in different sizes, a 2” polar flow or flat brush
and a roll of paper towels.
If you’re using oils you must have odorless solvent in a container with a lid. For everyone's health and well-being, we allow only low-odor solvents like turpenoid or odorless mineral spirits in the classroom.
